About us

In the midst of grief, you should not have to figure out which official certificates are needed and where to order them. We order and verify all the certificates needed for the estate inventory, so the process and banking go smoothly.

Our story

Why we created this service

After a loved one passes away, the heir's responsibilities begin immediately and proceed on a tight schedule. First, funeral arrangements and their costs must be handled, various parties must be notified of the passing, and the deceased's ongoing bills must be taken care of.

“We have seen too many times how an incomplete genealogy report brings everything to a halt, right when the family needs to move forward with banks and authorities.”

In the midst of all this, the law requires the estate inventory to be completed within three months. A prerequisite for the estate inventory is an unbroken genealogy report, which often proves to be the most difficult part of the entire process. Many compile the certificates to the best of their ability and believe everything is in order. Usually it is the estate inventory executor who first notices the gaps, but at the latest the bank, which will not allow management of the estate's affairs until the genealogy report is complete.

The problem we wanted to solve

We noticed that handling it independently often turns out to be surprisingly expensive and exhausting. If there are gaps in the genealogy report, they usually only come to light weeks later at the estate inventory or at the bank. The bank does not complete broken certificate chains. The process simply stops. The family member then has to go back to square one and order missing certificates urgently, and if the estate inventory executor has to patch these gaps after the fact, the family incurs significant additional costs and lengthy delays.

We know where chains break

We have verified hundreds of genealogy reports, so we can identify the break points through long experience. We know exactly where chains typically break. We are familiar with authority practices from domestic registers all the way to Sweden's Skatteverket.

The most common pitfalls include, for example, missing church records from the deceased's early years or a period spent living in Sweden that requires a certificate from the Skatteverket.

Why Sukuselvitys.fi exists

We wanted to build a service that gets everything in order in one go, before the estate inventory. Sukuselvitys.fi was created so that you can fill in just one form and trust that professionals will verify the completeness of the documents on your behalf. It is the surest way to avoid unnecessary paperwork and costly delays.

This way, you can focus on what truly matters right now.
